International Women’s Day celebration

March the 8th is International Women’s Day across the world.

Recently I watched the film ‘Nyad’, which if you haven’t seen is a great watch.  It is a true story and it shows the strength and determination of one women to achieve her goal.  It really got me thinking about the strength within so many women that I know personally and that are going about day to day facing their own battles.  Women have so many more barriers to face than men and we all have our own personal stories about these.  I wanted to come together to celebrate the achievements of women in our local community so I decided to host an event to do so.  I wanted to hear stories from real women who have a message to pass on to inspire us all to be better, be stronger, be calmer, be happier, be more content or just be thankful.  I have set up an event on the 8th of March at the Temple Centre at Nuthall from 9.30 till 2.30.  I’ve invited several local ladies to come along and share something personal to them in a series of short talks of no more than 15 mins.  I want this to be an inspiring event to lift us up and celebrate our awesomeness.
